weekend round up

One of three isn't bad. Okay, yeah it is, but it's not like the Browns were ever actually going to win. Let's leave that type of football behind and talk about the other one.

First off, it was nice of both AC Milan and Arsenal to wait until Sunday to play -- just so I could watch them.

Second, Arsenal. The game was good, as in entertaining and nerve wracking good. During the first half, I thought we were lucky to only be losing by one goal, even if it was just an own goal by Djourou. According to Soccernet, most of the chances of the first half belonged to Chelsea. Not surprising because I thought we spent most of the half in our own half. Not fun. The second half was better, though we didn't out shoot them, we just scored when it matters. Thanks, Robin van Persie. I might not like you, but I like it when you score. I think that probably Chelsea was, in the statistical sense, the better team. But Arsenal persisted, something which we haven't seen much of this season. And it was because the team obviously never gave up -- even in the dying moments of the game, that guaranteed us that win. Hell, Chelsea had 60% of the possession (again, according to Soccernet)and Arsenal only 40%. Somehow we won and deservedly so.

Third, AC Milan. My only reaction here is WHAT WHAT WHAT. That and aging/out of shape/whatever strikers are JUST NOT CUTTING IT. I don't even know what happened during the game. I had it on, I was half-watching the first half and definitely watching the second and it was a disaster. I don't know what the hell was going on and I can't even be able about the penalty because it was too little too late. I mean, for fuck's sake, Milan. Something's wrong with that team and it's not something that having Beckham around will fix. I don't even know who to blame. But, of course, it's just one loss, but it's one loss more than the team needs.

And, in other, other news. I think I have a crush on Joe Hart. I watched the end of the City/United game and that boy is adorable. When he had to run to the United end to try and help them score, then got a bit confused and was forced to book it back to make that spectacular save -- it was just great. It's too bad that City couldn't get a draw.
