a something something update

If you've missed me, sorry. I've been reading and following football, just not post due to laziness related to being sick. Anyway. There's no way I'm going to catch up, so moving on. Here's an unrelated picture of Carlos Vela and Nicklas Bendter from that great Carling Cup match. Yeah, I'll admit it, I like Nick's thighs. Also, I've been filling in (with a few other bloggers) over at This Is Extra Time.

Anyway, onto other things. Two links that made me cringe and sigh -- in that order.

I'm a fascist, says AC Milan star Christian Abbiati

One of Silvio Berlusconi's players at AC Milan has declared he is a fascist. Christian Abbiati, 31, an Italian international, said: "I am not ashamed to proclaim my political beliefs. I share [the] ideals of fascism, such as the fatherland and the values of the Catholic religion."
Um. DO NOT WANT. Like, at all. This is why I was reluctant to even like Italian football, but secretly AC Milan won me over. And, GAH. Moving on.

Tomas Rosicky injury mystery leaves Arsene Wenger speechless
"We are a little bit speechless on [Rosicky's injury] because we feel it is all going well but there is a problem of recoordinating his muscle with the exercises he does," said Wenger. "Nobody at the club can tell me whether he will be back on November 10, December 10 or December 31. Nobody knows with him."
This is like how my life with sports is. Team is supposed to be good, top players get hurt and stay out indefinitely or keep getting hurt. Team sucks. Hopefully, Arsenal will buck this trend (as they seem wont to do), but seriously. I don't need this in all my sports. Ugh.

Back to your regularly secheduled not posting.
