The Arsenal Ladies beat Charlton 6-2 over the weekend. Rachel Yankey had a hat trick, while Gilly Flaherty, Kim Little and Kelly Smith scored a goal a piece. DC only managed a draw, and it was a rather depressing end to what could have been a spectacular game. Arsenal won 4-0 and I "watched" while working Saturday morning. It seemed like a good game and the team mostly dominated (I say mostly because there were a few times when Arsenal kept losing possession, but that was rare). It was also great to see Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey getting some first team playing time.
AC Milan got their asses handed to them and I'm so tired of their BS. Milan needs a younger, stronger team. Because, seriously, it's they're fielding a team of geriatrics. And, for god's sake, that's not going to win you a damn thing. Obviously. Also, because I seem to care, Columbus could only draw and apparently people were throwing things at Robbie Rogers when he was taking corners (according to emails and links from Amanda). You know what I'm not cool with? People throwing stuff at players -- regardless of who the player is.
Finally, the US men managed to beat T&T 4-0. It was a fun game, especially because Michael Bradley scored the first goal. I think I had more to say, but work got in the way. I agree with everyone who says that the team needs to attack more and that it'd be nice for Bradley to call up some other players and, you know, use them.
